Real Estate Acquisition in the United States

  • Almost a quarter of all foreign buyers in U.S. choose Florida property. By Kimberly Miller. International buyers have helped buttress Florida's real
    estate market with 22 percent of all foreign clients nationally choosing property in the Sunshine State. That makes Florida tops for attracting foreign

  • Industrial Real Estate Shows Signs of Recovery in the United States. The North American Industrial real estate sector has delivered positive
    news for the second quarter 2010, according to a new, national report by Jones Lang LaSalle. National average vacancy rates have tumbled 20
    basis points for the first time in almost two years from 10.6 percent in the first quarter to 10.4 percent in the second quarter. Read more here.

  • Green building takes off in real estate slump. Green building remains the bright spot in an otherwise dull U.S. real estate market as companies
    and homeowners look to lower utility bills. It now accounts for nearly one-third of new U.S. construction, up from 2% in 2005, according to a report

  • USCIS Implements H-1B and L-1 Fee Increase. On Aug. 13, 2010, President Obama signed into law Public Law 111-230, which contains
    provisions to increase certain H-1B and L-1 petition fees. Effective immediately, Public Law 111-230 requires the submission of an additional fee of
    $2,000 for certain H-1B petitions and $2,250 for certain L-1A and L-1B petitions postmarked on or after Aug. 14, 2010, and will remain in effect
